When adventurers accomplish heroic deeds, the gods grant blessings to their world, known as "favor of the gods." Soon, adventurers will have new ways to earn this blessing.
Originally, the favor of the gods was granted to a specific "region" of players based on events in the Hall of Heroes. As of August 9, 2007, the favor of the gods will affect all players in the game world, regardless of where they live in the real world.

Regarding the new multi-level dungeons, Sorrow’s Furnace, Games Radar had an interview with Eye of the North Lead designer Ben Miller. He shared some information with GW players about this expanded, cool, epic version.

From the interview, we can get a general idea that Sorrow’s Furnace is a super huge map. It has distinct areas, it has NPCs with quest that kind of explain the areas at the time official released it. Moreover, it is going to have some of the most unique loot and experiences that Eye of the North has to offer.

Ben confirmed that players will be able to acquire Norn and Asura Heroes or more, but not including the third new race, the Sylvari hero.

Vancouver, Canada August 7, 2006 - Penny Arcade announced today that the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) will host the inaugural Guild Wars Live Event. Both NCsoft and ArenaNet will sponsor a Guild War Factions battle between the Luxons and Kurzicks at PAX. There will also be more than $10,000 in cash and prizes given away at the PAX 10K Arena Guild Wars competition.
